Adjustable Louvre Privacy Screen at a Punggol Walk Condominium

The owner of a first-storey condominium unit along Punggol Walk wanted privacy from the development’s swimming pool. Han Fong installed an adjustable louvre privacy screen along the patio to solve this. The adjustable blades let the owner control sightlines, airflow, and light at any time.

Designing the Adjustable Louvre Privacy Screen

Adjustable louvres give you privacy without blocking light or breeze. Tilt the blades closed, and they screen the patio from the pool and passers-by. Open them again, and fresh air and daylight flow straight through. This flexibility makes aluminium louvre windows ideal for ground-floor units that face shared facilities. We built the sliding louvre panels from a sturdy 1.4mm aluminium profile for strength and a clean finish.

A Half-Height Swing Door for Controlled Access

To barricade the area properly, we added a half-height swing door within the screen. It controls access to the patio while keeping the open, airy feel of the louvres. The half-height design suits a family setting and keeps the boundary clear.

Slim-Profile Folding Doors Behind the Louvres

Behind the louvres, we installed two sets of three-panel slim-profile slide-and-folding doors. Each set uses an odd, three-panel layout for a practical reason. The last panel works as a daily-use door, so the owner steps through without folding everything back. When the family needs more room, the folding doors open fully to merge the patio with the interior. The doors mainly partition the space, then fold away to create one large, connected area.

A Flexible Patio That Adapts to the Family
